There as many varied reasons to become a Fire Fighter as there are Fire Fighters.
For many of us it begins with our childhood and the fascination with fire trucks
and their lights and sirens. It is the camaraderie and being part of a team.
But what really keeps us going as fire fighters is the satisfaction of a job well
done, the excitement of entering a building to put out that fire, saving propety
and lives. It is not the thrill of the siren, it is when we have stopped that fire
from destroying some ones home and when we rescued some one from a accident,
so they can get the medical attention they need as soon as possible. We all feel
with great pride, to be able to Serve and Protect the members of our communities.
Of course some of us followed in the footsteps of our parents, who became
fire fighters for all the same great reasons and we carry on with the same
great tradition.
