Rotating or flashing green light

Under the Highway Traffic Act, our firefighters may have on their vehicles a green rotating or flashing light. Firefighters are to use this green light when responding to an emergency. Please move over or yield way when you see a vehicle with an active green rotating or flashing light, it may be a friend or family member that is in desperate need of our help.

Vehicles of firefighters

      (16)  A firefighter, within the meaning of subsection 1 (1) of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997, may carry on or in his or her vehicle a lamp that produces intermittent flashes of green light and may operate the light if the motor vehicle is proceeding to a fire or other emergency.  1997, c. 4, s. 81.
