| North Middlesex Fire Department was established January 1st 2001, when the municipalities of Ailsa Craig, , East Williams, McGillivray, Parkhill and West Williams amalgamated to form the Municipality of North Middlesex. The municipality of Parkhill had its own fire department and provide fire protection for parts of West Williams and McGillivray. McGillivray, East Williams and Ailsa Craig were joint owners in the Ailsa Craig and Area fire department. McGillivray was provided fire protection by 3 different fire departments Parkhill, Ailsa Craig and Area and Lucan. The ward of McGillivray still receives fire protection in its easterly section from Lucan-Biddulph fire department. The ward of West Williams has some fire protection along its southernly border from Lambton Shores, Arkona station. The Ailsa Craig and Parkhill fire stations have a long history which is best dealt with individually. | |
